My sister told me about a book she finished reading and said it was definitely something I should read. It’s title, Blessed by Less by Susan V. Vogt.
I’m always working on getting rid of things but I still suffer from the ol’ “Ohh I may need that some day”.
Now don’t misunderstand me, this book is not all about tangible things, it is also about clearing the intangible things like worry, anger, and “the piles of folded sweatshirt hiding in your mind that should be occupied by your children’s birthday memories. Along with growing closer with the fact that “From dust you came, to dust you shall return” anything that can clear my life and focus more on my walk with God I will always give the Ol’ college try!
I purchased it on my kindle (save space less books, yet I have an entire book shelf filled with books, see why I’m doing this?) I didn’t start reading it until today, I only did because of a post my husband tagged me in on social media about “Clutter”! Needless to say the least I was horrified and no, I did not click the link “Add to timeline”!
Then I realized something. Why am I so attached to this “stuff”?
“Worry less( clear the crap)smile and laugh more” is one example she gives.
Who doesn’t want that?
Unfortunately, that’s is my biggest defeat. Worry! But I’ll get there someday. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.
I decided to jump in and get the ball rolling on this journey. I’m going to call it my “Clutter to clarity” Journey. I will post each week (really challenging myself here) on where I am at and what I am doing to really make this work. I would LOVE your feedback of ideas, comments of your own journey on this issue and just plain encouragement!
Wish me luck!
Oh, and here’s a small excerpt from her book with what we already are blessed with.
